Santorini used to only be a volcano, but is now the most visited Greek island. You probably come here for the sunset view, and the picturesque backdrop. Santorini does not boost the same beach opportunities as it neighbouring island Naxos, but there are beaches here as well, and could as well be a good base for staying in Greece as the port is a busy one with ferries to both Naxos and Mykonos from here.
What to visit
Oia on the north side of Santorini is a must-visit once in Santorini.
Must do here is watch the sunset according to everyone (you won’t be alone), and dine somewhere you can take in the view. Will not be too difficult as the view is stunning from pretty much everywhere.
We had an amazing lunch with spectacular views surrounding us, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to enjoy it too much as I was feeling nauseous from my medication.
