Samsung Galaxy S5 is more of a refreshed version of Galaxy S4, rather than a next-generation model since it has the same design and features of its’ predecessor. The slightly improved phone features a large 5.1-inch display with 1920×1080 resolution, 2.5GHz quad core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16-megapixel camera and runs on Android KitKat 4.4.2.

Stealing the idea from Apple’s latest iPhone 5s, Samsung has integrated a fingerprint scanner to the home button to provide a bit of extra security to users. Company claims that its working with PayPal to make mobile payments easier by allowing you to buy apps and authorize transaction with just a swipe of your fingertip.

The heart rate sensor on the back of the phone, right next to the camera flash allowing users to measure heart rate while keeping a finger on the home button scanner. Earlier this year, reports claimed that Apple is working on this feature, but it seems like Samsung got to it first. In addition to all these features, Samsung is offering the Galaxy S5 in copper gold and electric blue color options.

“We learned from our Galaxy S users that they really want basic, everyday life features. They weren’t looking for the eye-popping, disruptive technology that everybody else was looking for,” executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile division, Young-Hee Lee told Re/code. “We’re going back to basics.”
