Samsung Galaxy Alpha to Launch in August?

After a number of rumors about the Galaxy F or Galaxy Prime, come rumors about a new high-end Samsung device called the Samsung Galaxy Alpha. According to a recent report, the Galaxy Alpha will launch next month and come with similar specs as the Galaxy F.

The Galaxy Alpha will allegedly have a metal casing, instead of a plastic one the Galaxy S5 comes with. The Alpha’s design will be somewhat different than the S5′s and it will arrive with a 5.2in QHD display and a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. On the inside will be a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor and 3GB of RAM. As for cameras, the handset is said to feature a 16-megapixel main camera and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing shooter. The Alpha will probably run Android 4.4 KitKat.

These are all the details that we’ve learned so far, but we do know that Samsung is planning to launch this new handset in order to have an Android smartphone take on Apple’s upcoming iPhone (coming in September). As soon as we find out more about the Galaxy Alpha, we’ll let you know.
