Episode 4 of the The Walking Dead Game has finally arrived, and after a month and a half of waiting, we get to continue following the diminished group of survivors.  The question is, can it live up to the hype the previous three episodes built up?
Story, Presentation, and Core Gameplay:
After completing episode 4, it seems more and more that the purpose of this episode was to set up the last upcoming episode.  There are a lot of interesting plot points that get introduced in EP 4, but the team is saving all the resolutions for the fifth and final episode.  This isn't a bad thing, I was kinda expecting this as a matter of fact.  The good thing about this is the fact that they managed to keep the narrative interesting and engaging, while being a setup.  The story picks up almost exactly where episode 3 left off, the ragtag group of survivors has finally arrived in Savannah.  They're ready to try and get to the water line, and find a boat for use.  Just like in previous episodes, everything doesn't happen the way they had hoped.  A number of new and old obstacles stand in their way, and its up to you to lead them as they try and survive in a hostile town.  New and old characters continue to be fleshed out and exposed for who they really are.  I found myself not liking a particular character anymore, which is a surprise, seeing how he was one of my favorite characters going in to this episode.  This is one of the things that makes the game's story so good, the characters are changing and developing right in front of your eyes.  The game's visuals are the same, but the new city environment is a nice change of pace from the past settings.  The city has a lot of different areas to explore, with even more backstory to uncover.  The gameplay hasn't changed at all either, other than a few odd gameplay moments, which I won't spoil for you.  There isn't much to say about the gameplay in episode 4, because we've seen it three times before.  I would say that the game is a little more balanced than the last episodes, which were a lot more action based.
Final Thoughts:
Even though this episode is more of a setup for the final one, there is still a ton mystery to unravel.  Yet again, you're greeted with more difficult choices and great dialog choices.  This is a great episode, theres just isn't much new that this episode brings to the overall season.
