G.O.R.K is a simple devouring based game that does little to innovate the genre and only has 12 levels. But with that said, is there enough fun to be had to justify a purchase?

Story/Graphics:
The story behind G.O.R.K. is that the player, a little green blob, was created in a petri dish and he must escape and seek revenge against his creators. The game never really has any plot twists per say but does however give players plenty of reason to go through the 12 varied levels. The graphics are simplistic yet charming and don't get in the way of having a good time. Rather they compliment any fun to be had with their cutesy style. Both the story and graphics are throwaway but they never hinder the game in any way except for giving G.O.R.K. a decent feeling rather than an awesome feeling.
Gameplay:
All of the levels in G.O.R.K. either revolve around "sneaking" or eating things. The "sneaking" levels really require no stealth rather the ability to not stop no matter how bad things start to go and just power on through until the end of the level has been reached. Some of those levels are in interesting patterns that make the player question if they are going in the right direction and whether or not they will reach the end. The devour levels are based around eating enemies of a smaller size so that G.O.R.K can become larger and thus eat bigger enemies. There are power ups in these levels that increase size, speed, and grant invincibility. These levels are a blast to play through and represent a nice challenge if only from hiding from larger enemies.
Final Thoughts:
G.O.R.K is simple throwaway fun which is great since it only costs a dollar. It fits perfectly into a gamer's schedule where there is nothing to be had in an afternoon. That said the game never excels at anything and leaves an average feeling at best. It is a nice first shot from ThotLab Games and here is to hoping there is more to come later down the line.
