Following shows with The Amazons and Jimmy Eat World and ahead of the release of new EP ‘The Great Deceiver’, Reading five-piece Saltwater Sun have shared new single ‘Blood’.

Opening with potent Sl0tface-style melodies and driving drums, the poignant lyrics find Jen Stearnes looking back over the loss of her father and examining how ‘we might transcend death through lineage’. She states: ‘Stand my ground for the heartbroken, timid and weak. I see now you’re living through me’ and then tenderly notes ‘We owe it to ya, because we grow stronger than before… This is how you’ll never really die’ as the guitars veer into more twinkly shoegaze.
