This was one of three gleaming PT-22s that participated in the Wings Over Camarillo airshow. The beautiful streamlining of the prop spinner to the fuselage is jarringly offset by the protruding engine cylinders. The Ryan PT-22 Recruit was the military version of the Ryan ST, utilized as for primary pilot training by the US Army Air Corps. First flown in 1941, over 1,000 would be manufactured in their San Diego plant. Nikon D7100 w/18-200mm.
