Redemption is classed as a Belgian Blonde or an “Abbey single.” This beer, after having tasted several in Belgium, would easily be at home on the dinner table of one of the Trappist Monasteries. You can read more about what a single is in my “Q & Ale” piece: Q & Ale – Why are they called Dubbel, Tripel, Quadrupel?
Appearance: Hazy pale straw, off-white head, solid retention.
Aroma: Light yeasty notes, phenolic, grainy undertones, floral/herbal notes.
Taste: Light graininess, herbal and floral with a touch of soft citrus.
Overall Impression: Redemption has a long but light finish with a wonderfully creamy mouthfeel. This beer tastes far bigger than its low ABV. It’s balanced, flavorful, refreshing, with great character. It’s the very definition of a Monastic Table beer. This is definitely a beer worth trying and repeat buying.
Availability: In select cities and bottle shops around the Western US and Philadelphia.
