Russia has launched a new rocket attack in the city of Kharkiv Ukraine in the last few days, signifying the possibility of a tactic shift by Moscow. Ukraine said at least 20 people were killed on Tuesday and Wednesday in the second largest city in the country, located near the Russian border. Ukraine President’s advisor, Oleksiy Aestovych said in a video address that the purpose of the strike was to “terrorize the population” of the city. He also claimed that the attack was Russia’s effort to divert Ukraine forces from the main region of Donbas where air strikes and large -magnitude -scale artillery were ongoing.
The leaders who attend the upcoming G7 and NATO Summit in Europe will discuss new proposals to pressure Russia in the midst of its ongoing attacks in Ukraine. US President Joe Biden will attend the G7 Summit in the German territory of Bavarian this weekend, along with British leaders, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan.
Meanwhile, European leaders will officially establish Ukraine on a long road to EU membership in the summit in Brussels on Thursday. Although especially symbolic, this step will help lift national morals at a very difficult time in a four -month conflict.
