This is the new CBS News Poll -- done Between June 15th and 18th of a random national sample of 1,117 adults, with a margin of error of 4 points. It shows that Donald Trump's job approval has hit a new low for this poll. He is approved of by only 35%. That's about 5 points lower than it was at his 100 day mark in office.
When you break it down by party preference, you see that he has lost support from all three groups since the 100 day mark -- down by 1 point among Democrats (to 9%), down by 3 points among Independents (to 35%), and down by 11 points among Republicans (to 72%).
What is the biggest obstacle for Trump. It would have to be the Russia investigation. While Trump is 6 points down on his handling of terrorism, and 9 points down on his handling of the economy, he is a whopping 35 points down on his handling of the Russia investigations. Calling the Russia scandal "fake news' and the investigation a "witch hunt" is not getting Trump anywhere.
