Rule #27 – At Least Pretend to Work

By Don Mega

"Whaaaat's happening?"

I’m getting tired of watching my co-workers wander around the office avoiding their work while I sit at my desk pretending to do mine.

It takes real talent and skill to look busy for eight hours a day while accomplishing next to nothing.

Anybody can waste an hour or two meandering through the labyrinth of cubicles, spreading the usual company gossip and bragging to their fellow employees about how their son was cast in his high school’s latest interpretation of the Music Man – failing to mention, of course, that his part was the highly sought after role of Salesman #2.

Yet my hard work and determination at being unproductive and lazy goes completely unnoticed. Just doesn’t seem fair.
