Rs. 4 Mn Cash Prizes for Homagama Dharma Rashmi Poson Zone Lantern Competition Winners

The Homagama Dharma Rashmi Poson Zone, which is organised annually in view of Poson Full Moon Poya Day, will be held on June 21, 22 and 23.

This year, the Poson Zone has been organised spread over 13 kilometers covering Diyagama, Pitipana, Dampe, Meegoda, Godagama, Panagoda and Homagama.

Lantern competitions will be held for adults as well as school and Dhamma school students and the adult lantern competition will be held so that everyone can participate.

The student lantern competition is organised separately for school and Dhamma schoolchildren.

The print and digital sponsorship for the Poson Zone is provided by Lake House while electronic media sponsorship is provided by the Independent Television Network and National Television, Rupavahini and the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC).

Arrangements have been made to award cash gifts of four million rupees to the winners of this lantern competition. Homagama Shasanarakshaka Bala Mandalaya, the Presidential Secretariat, Ministry of Mass Media, Transport and Highways, Western Provincial Council, Homagama Divisional Secretariat, Homagama Pradeshiya Sabha, Homagama Zonal Education Office, Sri Lanka Army and Sri Lanka Police are jointly organising the Dharma Rashmi Poson Zone.

Cash prizes of one million rupees for first place, five hundred thousand rupees for second place and two hundred thousand rupees for the third place will be awarded in the lantern competition for adults.

In addition, the fourth to fourteenth place winners will receive Rs.50,000 each and 15th to 25th places will be awarded Rs. 25,000 each.

In the student lantern competition, the first place will receive Rs.500,000, the second place will receive Rs.300,000 and the third-place winner will be awarded Rs.100,000 while Rs.30,000 will be awarded to winners from the fourth place to the fourteenth place and winners from 15th to 25th place will receive Rs.20,000.

A rice dansala will be held in the knowledge-centered city of Pitipana, for those visiting the Poson zone, and a concert of devotional songs will be held every day from 7pm at the Green University grounds. This show is telecast and broadcast daily on National Television and Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation.
