Rosehip Teahouse – ‘Same Sky’

Posted on the 15 March 2019 by Spectralnights

Our friends over at Beth Shalom Records have uncovered another gem in Cardiff’s Rosehip Teahouse. Having started life as the solo project of Faye Rogers, the band has expanded into a four-piece and the DIY bedroom pop sound combines the heartfelt ponderings of Snail Mail and Jeffery Lewis with the effusive spirit of early Slow Club.

The song opens with Faye asking the subject ‘Are we looking at the same sky? Does it ever make you cry that we never held hands?’ before then revealing that she got tired of waiting and explaining how she also has a habit of finding other things. It ends with a blast of garage rock and upbeat drums that show why the band are so perfectly suited to their already announced slot at this year’s Indietracks Festival.
