Rose Print + Gold Brocade

By Covetedclassics @covetedclassics

I hope that everyone had a Happy Valentine's Day! Whether you were celebrating with your special someone, or with your best gals (Happy Galentine's day!), I hope that you had fun and donned a romantic outfit that was all your own.  This week has been a busy one for me with lots of events taking place including the Hip + Urban Girl's Annual Cookies + Champagne Party. As a result, I got to wear my Vday outfit two days before the actual day, celebrating Galentine's Day with over 200 gals (and some fellas) and over 5000 cookies. Here's what I wore:

/ Silk Blouse by J.Crew / Gold Brocade Skirt by L'Wren Scott / Belt by Kate Spade (similar here) /Pumps by Prada (similar here)/

I picked up this lovely gold brocade skirt by L'Wren Scott at The Room's 'take an extra 50% off' sale this past week. Let's just say that this little number, and the matching jacket, have been my biggest sale item to date. After I got the pieces, I immediately called my Mom like a proud student to tell her about my latest designer sale accomplishment. The thrill of the hunt is so much better when you have someone to share it with.

I love the subtle rose print pattern on this skirt which makes it feel feminine and even a little romantic. The skirt is a little big on my around the waist, and since I haven't had a chance to take it to my tailor yet (if you live in Toronto, Wayne at King West Village Cleaners is the gold standard), I belted it and wore it intentionally with extra room at the top.

Whether you were celebrating love, our your love of style, this past Valentine's Day, I hope that you had someone, or a handful of gals, to share it with. It's the people who appreciate us, and our expression of ourselves (including through personal style), that make life that much more special.
