An application for a trademark has been submitted by the luxury watchmaker Rolex, alleging that the company has plans for NFTs, NFT-backed media, an NFT marketplace, crypto keys, and cryptocurrency transactions.
According to a tweet by USPTO-licensed trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis, the application also mentioned auctions for virtual goods such as watches, art objects, digital collectibles, and more.

The trademark also covers the exchange and transfer of virtual and cryptocurrencies, as well as marketing through product placements in online games or the metaverse.
More and more luxury brands and businesses have already begun experimenting with decentralized culture by filing trademark applications for crypto, NFTs, and the metaverse.
