Rogues London Review | Eat & Drink

Rogues London should have started their residency at Hackney Coffee Company by now, but the lockdown hit and so it wasn't. But like all good restaurant businesses, they've pivoted and pivoted quickly, moving to a take-out business serving a small menu of just three breakfast sandwiches and a sweet entree Friday through Sunday AKA on the days you are. most likely to have a hangover.

Led by Zac Whittle and Freddie Sheen, Rogues started life as a traveling pop-up, and although their evening food is more fancy, it's clear from tasting their produce that these boys understand the flavors, textures, and what makes a striking sandwich. Our favorite was the stack of sausage crumpets with black pudding, canned pickled nut ketchup (like a chic HP), canned tomatoes, and crispy shallots. The slow poached egg sandwich offers more than the sum of its parts, as do the cheesecake cream and jam waffles.

For the best possible experience, we can recommend that you eat them while you hangover, taking refuge in the nearby alley. When Lockout Restrictions Apply, You Must Do What You Must Do! Based on this evidence, we can't wait to see what they will do once the doors open ...
