Two Crystal Cruises ships that have been diverted to the Bahamas with passengers aboard have been seized in relation to a US warrant over at the very least $4.6 million in unpaid gasoline payments.
The Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity have been commandeered by authorities in waters close to Freeport, Bahamas on Friday night time, crew members on each ships advised Cruise Regulation Information.
Each ships have been being sought by US Marshals on a federal arrest warrant issued final month, and had diverted to the Bahamas to evade seizure, infuriating passengers who had anticipated to finish their cruises in Miami.
It was not instantly clear how the ships have been seized within the Bahamas, which is exterior the jurisdiction of the US Marshals.
