Plot: The former World Heavyweight Champion Rocky Balboa serves as a trainer and mentor to Adonis Johnson, the son of his late friend and former rival Apollo Creed.

Verdict: Excellent Chapter
Story: Creed starts when young Adonis is getting himself in trouble over and over in juvenile detention center until Apollo’s wife Mary Anne Creed (Rashad) comes to give him a home. Adonis (Jordan) has grown up to become a fighter himself starting in Mexico, while away from his office job. After quitting his job Adonis is determined to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a fighter against his step mother wishes.
Adonis turns to the one man he believes could teach him to be as good as his father Rocky Balboa (Stallone) who at first has no interest until he learns who he really is. While Adonis is training Danny ‘Stuntman’ Wheeler (Ward) the man who took him down a level is preparing for his title fight against British champion ‘Pretty’ Ricky Conlan (Bellew).
After Rocky finally agrees to help Adonis he goes through the montage we expect but when he gets the chance of a life time to become the world’s next Rocky Balboa.
Creed gives us one of the best sporting movies of recent times and while the comparisons to the original Rocky can be seen here but for the new audience this is great for giving the experience the original fans got. I do think this one went for the emotional overkill. The lack of original supporting cast members will upset some of the original fans but they had a good reason to not be around. This would be the most important film of the series which all will enjoy.
Actor Review
Michael B Jordan: Adonis Johnson is the illegitimate son of the great Apollo Creed, raised by his wife. He wants to be a fighter like his dad and tries his hardest to keep his identity secret so he can be the best without using his father’s name. he turns to Rocky to train him knowing he is the only one that can teach him without worrying about his name. Once his true identity is known to the world he ends up having the title shot many fighters can only dream off. Michael is brilliant in this role giving us a realistic fighter.
Sylvester Stallone: Rocky Balboa is now alone with his restaurant business but when Adonis turns up he decides to give him a chance training, could this be the final chance for Rocky to train a champion of his picking giving his old friend Apollo the ultimate respect. Sylvester gives one of the best performances of his career here that deserves the praise he is getting.
Tessa Thompson: Bianca is the girl next door quite literally that becomes Adonis inspiration, the two are both trying to make their own way in the world and help each other get there. Tessa is good in this role becoming the new Adrian.
Phylicia Rashad: Mary Anne Creed is the wife of the late Apollo Creed, she takes Adonis in when he is a trouble making kid to give him a chance in life, she is opposed to his fighting but knows she can’t stop him being like his father. Phylicia is good in this small supporting role but is important to the story.
Support Cast: Creed has plenty of supporting characters that all work for the world created using plenty of real boxers.
Director Review: Ryan Coogler – Ryan gives us a great film that could be a contender for the number one spot in the Rocky lists.
Sports: Creed gives us an epic sports film that is easily the best sports involvement in all of the Rocky films.
Settings: Creed uses the settings well to create the story using the old and new settings to make us enjoy the film.
Suggestion: Creed is one of the best sports movies ever made either though it is the seventh in the series. (Watch)
Best Part: Final fight.
Worst Part: Slightly long.
