The RightoftheDot.com domain name auction on the 4.cn platform as part of the Domainfest.asia conference generated over $871,000 in sales.
All sales were led by a three number .com, 586.com which sold for $416,000
The two next highest sales, zhou.com and 8.xyz were both listed at no reserve.
Several of the domain name sales occurred, as they often do after the domain auction concluded which is why it took RightoftheDot.com some time to wind up the auction and first publish the results.
To note, the fact that several domains sell after the auction is why ROTD asks for an exclusive period of time after a auction ends to continue to broker the domain from leads that come up during the marketing of a domain auction.
You might recall that the auction was held online only and although those in the US were able to bid in the auction, it was held on 4.cn, which many domain investors including myself never participated on until this auction.
Bidding was made available in RMB or USD so we have included both amounts
As we announced yesterday, RightoftheDot.com has now opened submission for the live/online domain name auction from Namescon which will be held on January 11th.
Pre-bidding is already ongoing for those domains that have been accepted into the auction on Namejet.com here. 38 domain names already have 2 bids or more and there are 4 domain names that have a high bid in the five figures.
