Right Wing, Republican, "small Government" Kansas, Loving That Big Federal Money After All

We have, today, ladies and gentlemen, a magnificent example of hypocrisy on a grand scale, coming out of that very Right Wing bastion of Kansas. It was in the Star this morning:

Obama proposes $714 million for biodefense project at K-State

Yesirree, bob, those feisty Kansans, "conservative" as they are, hate "big government" and big government spending and heck, that black man in the White House but when it comes right down to it, they loves them some big money when it's spent on them and/or in their back yard, no doubt about it.
They hate, hate, hate "big government" and want to fight to reduce spending and those big federal government budgets but, "Gosh, you want to spend three-quarters of a billion dollars on little old us??"
"Well, okay."
"Just this once."
From the article, here's the beginning of the hypocrisy:
Republican Sen. Pat Roberts of Kansas said the recommendation signals the administration’s support for building the $1.15 billion lab, which will study large animal diseases and develop measures to protect the nation’s food supply.

“We’re not there yet,” Roberts said, “but it’s a milestone.”
But you want the real beauty? You want the pièce de résistance of hypocrisy? Here it is, from the Guv himself:
Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback, a Republican, said in a statement that the lab “is vital to the security of our country’s food supply, the health of our livestock industry, and growing our state’s economy.”

He said he would work with state lawmakers to secure additional financial commitments from the state, which the budget recommendation anticipates.
Republicans.   Yeah, they're for "small government" all right.   Sure. Got it. Totally, dude.
