Rice Krispie Candy

By Kalamitykelli @venuscorpiogirl

I found this recipe on the Imperial Sugar site and knew I wanted to try these. They were made for Imperial Sugar by the blogger at Fields of Cake. The recipe is easy and the taste is deee-licious! I changed it just a little by adding my own idea of what good toppings would be and according to my family, I was right. Making them is a bit messy but perfect for kids to help with. You could even make the chocolate ganache a day before and then put the treats together a few hours before your party, potluck, or game. Hope you like it as much as we do – thanks Fields of Cake, Imperial Sugar and Kellogg’s Rice Krispies!

What you will need:

I box of Rice Krispie Treats

1 Lb. of Dark Chocolate

1 Cup of heavy cream

2 Tablespoons Imperial light brown sugar

Dash of salt

Toppings: Cocoa powder, dark cocoa powder, pecans, pistachios, tiny marshmallows, sesame seeds

Directions:

Heat cream, sugar and salt to a simmer in pot then pour over chocolate and stir until smooth.

Put chocolate ganache in fridge until firm.

Cut each RK treat into eight equal sized pieces and roll (with very clean hands) into little balls.

Scoop out about 1 teaspoon of chocolate and flatten.

Using a spatula, pull chocolate off wax paper and wrap around RK treat.

Roll in topping of your choice.

Store in fridge and eat within 2-3 days.
