Here is one of my favorite songs from the year 2000, which was released as the first single from The Bluetones' third album 'Science And Nature'. I also went to the Virgin Megastore in Bristol the week it came out, where the band were doing a signing session. As well as getting the CD single and a poster signed, I also brought along a promo copy of the next single the band were due to release, much to their surprise. 'Keep The Home Fires Burning' reached number 13 in the UK charts in February 2000. The band played their final gigs in 2011, and frontman Mark Morriss issued his first post-Bluetones solo album earlier this year. It's called 'A Flash Of Darkness' and it's superb. A review can be found HERE. Mark has recently done an interview with the Britpop Revival radio show, where he talks about his time in The Bluetones and his new record. Listen to that HERE
