Wow. Pandemonium was incredible! I am definitely enjoying the Delirium series so far and I’m already excited to pick up the final installment. I wasn’t sure how the sequel would go after the shocking way Delirium ended, but I liked the style. Pandemonium was told from Lena’s point of view, both in the present and in the past. The past was between the present and the end of Delirium, which was a period of much growth and transition for Lena. I liked the alternating time periods and the way it gradually showed how Lena ended up the way she was when the book began.
My favorite part about Pandemonium was seeing Lena harden and adapt. I love her evolution. I was intrigued by the new Lena and I was completely captivated by the events in the book. I also loved the characters. I liked how they were all shaped by their circumstances. They were different from the friends and family Lena had in Portland because they each struggled to survive and experienced emotion.
Pandemonium was action packed and completely engrossing. I feel like I can’t give any plot points away without giving away major spoilers, especially from the ending of book 1. But there was certainly a lot at stake in book 2. And the ending! Oh. My. Gosh. I can’t wait to pick up Requiem. I am actually kind of glad I waited to read the trilogy once I acquired all of the books. Both books in the trilogy have ended in ways that make me ache for the next book, so I would not have enjoyed a wait in between books!
I definitely recommend the series to fans of YA dystopian and anyone looking for a good dystopian adventure with likeable characters you can really root for.
