Have you ever bought something just because it looks pretty? Well, I have (many times). One of these 'purchases' is Peripera Pearly Night Inklasting Lavender Cushion. Come on guys, who can't resist something this pretty with its shining shimmering splendid case? I don't know about you, but anything that shimmers are done deal to me. But of course, we don't want just something that pretty outside, it has to be something on the inside as well, right?

Packaging

Hands down, this cushion has one of the prettiest packaging I've seen so far. It has this waterfall thing going on, but instead of just water, they added glitters in it to make it even more magical looking. And man, how Peripera nailed it.

Anyway, the cushion case itself is quite bulky and heavy. Perhaps it's because of the extra weight of the water from the packaging. And just like any cushion, it also has this extra layer that separates the puff from the cushion itself. Every Hangul written on the box has its corresponding English translation, so you don't have to guess what's written on it. Aesthetics aside, the puff handle broke easily; during the third time I used it, the handle of the puff (where Peripera is written) snapped. Now, I have trouble using its own puff to use the cushion. Sayang!

Performance

My first concern about this cushion is the shade. I chose the darkest shade they have which is #3 Sand and prayed that I made the right choice since the majority of Korean cushions have lighter shades that doesn't fit Pinay's morena skin. Thankfully, Sand is just the right shade for me. It's still a bit lighter than my preferred shade, but nothing a setting power cannot fix.

Peripera Pearly Night Inklasting Lavender Cushion has a medium to heavy coverage. What I noticed though, is that the more layer you apply, the more lighter it gets. Still, one layer is enough to cover my skin pigmentations and redness around my nose rather well. You can see how flawless the finish looks like and very Koreana too! Not the glass skin like I expected it to be, but dewy enough to make my skin looks well-moisturized.

Also, at approximately 3 or 4 hours later, I can start feeling the heaviness of this cushion on my face. Take note that I spend most of my day in our office with air-conditioning, yet I can still feel how heavy it is (and I only apply one layer). I am not saying that this will be the case for everybody since we all have different skin conditions. By the way, I have a very dehydrated skin, and I noticed that any base makeup with heavy coverage tends to feel this way for me. So, this might work for you.

Another thing I'd like to point out is how full of product this cushion has. I mean, you don't really need to push down too much to get enough product you need; just a soft push onto the cushion and you're good! It also doesn't cake or give any white cast on photos. But the best part about this cushion is it's SPF50+ PA+++ which makes it kinda okay toskip your sunscreen.

Overall, Peripera Pearly Night Inklasting Lavender Cushion is a hit and miss for me. I love how pretty the packaging is but, I don't like how the puff handle easily snapped after only a few times I used it. I love how it can cover my blemishes and how beautiful the finish is, but I don't like its heaviness. But the good thing is, it can withstand almost anything because girls, this cushion stays all day!
