This book had been hyped up so much and I was SO excited to read this one! It flew to the top of my to-read list the instant I saw the cover and read the summary. I'd continuously stalk Lenore's blog just for any previews or information on the novel.
Finally, when it came out, I got it from my library and dove in right away.
Sadly, this book didn't sweep me away like I expected it to.
Truly, I didn't connect to Felicia very much. She's a well traveled teen, and I haven't really been out of my state or the surrounding ones. Felicia, on the other hand, is traveling all over the place and she isn't even that old. At times Felicia seems like a goody too-shoes, but then other times she's doing extremely reckless things. Honestly, I think she takes her death too easily. Felicia just kind of annoyed me at times, so that could be why I put up a wall and couldn't relate to her. Also, one thing that absolutely bugged me, was the way things just brushed past her at times. Something major would happen and she wouldn't even care!The romance in this book was interesting. There was a love triangle, yes. Was it done well, I'm not sure. There was just so much confusion. I knew there was something wrong with Julian, but I couldn't figure out what it was. In the end, his identity just seemed so far-fetch And Neil, that was kind of weird.
I really don't know what to think of this book. The plot was interesting - that's for sure! I really loved the concept, but I think the characters were just off for me in this book.
I still plan on reading the next novel, just because the plot was so interesting and there is going to be more of Neil and Felicia's romance, because that was one good thing in this novel.
