Review: Le Keux Vintage Salon

By Thefoodiecoupleblog

A few weeks ago I was kindly invited along to Le Keux Vintage Salon, in the Custard Factory down in Digbeth. Unbeknownst to me it’s been there almost 3 years. For those not in the know, the custard factory is a great little area full of vintage and quirky shops and couple of bars, a great place to explore and one of Birminghams hidden gems. I’m loving their street art the at the moment too.

The salon caters for vintage hair and make up, photoshoots, hen parties and much more. As well as this, the Birmingham Salon has an ‘American Diner’ area serving American Style Ice Cream Shakes & cakes.

The salon is decked out really well. Retro features everywhere, bright splashes of color and even the back seat of a Cadillac.

I went down to try out their milkshakes and get a little taster of the services they offer. First we chose couple of cakes and milkshakes. The Sticky Toffee Cake was really delicious, as was Lee’s Blueberry muffin – both slightly warmed they were unctuous and very naughty.

But probably not as naughty as the highly indulgent milkshakes. Lee tried an Apple Crumble while I had the Cookies & Cream with Oreos – had to be done. If they weren’t decadent enough already you are free to raid the candy bar for extra toppings – nuts, jelly beans, marshmallows, sauces etc! Pure sugar overload!

Whilst the we sipped the milkshakes I had a browse through their look books at the many amazing hairstyles. I opted for one of the slightly less extravagant ones as I’d never tried anything like it before, and I absolutely loved the results.

I really enjoyed my couple of hours at Le Keux Salon – it makes for a great afternoon out and would be perfect for a party. I wish I’d have known about it before my wedding as their wedding styles are fabulous too.

Disclosure: Thanks to Lynsey for inviting me down to try out the salon, my milkshake and hairdo were complimentary but all views are my own as always.
