Review – Drygate Brewing Co, 85 Drygate, Glasgow

Craft Beer, Crafty Food

We have previously been to Drygate for a pre opening snoop about as well as for the launch night but we had yet to visit undercover, so we sorted that out with lunch.

We were greeted warmly and quickly shown to a seat. We ordered a flat white and an Outaspace Apple Ale. Their beer board can be found here.

Smooth and light coffee flavour, not too strong and not bitter/burnt tasting.

This is a firm fave of the Mrs, beery but not too hoppy, a light taste but not too cidery sweet (as in the fake ciders we get now)

Soft and cheesy inside with a crispy outside coating. The brioche bun was soft and fluffy. Excellent chips, so much so Ms Foodie pinched some. (Seemingly no calories in stolen chips!)

The sourdough bread was substantial and of course went well, with the brisket. Sliced gherkins would have been better but the cornichions were crunchy. Mustard wasn’t too strong, just enough to give a wee bite.

Liking the decor and laid back vibe, however downstairs toilets would be handy!

Check out their bottle shop too, when the zombies come, we’ll be in there!
