Description:
After pulling off a seemingly impossible heist in the notorious Ice Court, criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker feels unstoppable. But life is about to take a dangerous turn—and with friends who are among the deadliest outcasts in Ketterdam city, Kaz is going to need more than luck to survive in this unforgiving underworld. My Rating:
UUUUUGGGHHHH! I'm so upset that this is only a duology. I want more of Kaz and Nina and Jesper and... just everybody! I enjoyed this book immensely. Kaz and his team has been double crossed but they don't plan on giving up. But now they must outwit someone with money, power, and the ability to make anyone an ally. When Kaz can't walk freely in his own streets, he struggles a bit, but he is Kaz after all. He comes up with a brilliant that doesn't quite go as expected. I love how Kaz things. I love the simmering romance between him and Inej. I loved that this book really dove into the background of the characters and we saw a softer, more vulnerable side of Kaz. I really connected to the characters. In this read we get more background about all the characters' past, more romantic relationships, and more trickery. I felt really touched by the vulnerability of these tough characters.
I recommend this duology whole-heartedly. I'm so sad that it is over.
