Review: Baker Days Letterbox Cake

Baker Days deliver celebration cakes straight to your door; they offer letterbox cakes, personalised cakes, photo cakes and cupcakes.The Baker Days website is very straightforward to navigate around; first you choose your category, you then select the cake, and then you buy or personalise away. The cake is finally delivered to your chosen address.They have an array of categories for every occasion; from retirement cakes, father day cakes to birthday cakes, and for this review it was a mother's day cake, and I got to pick the design and recipe from several options (It was quite hard to pick one, as there were so many lovely designs).  The available recipes:

  • Sponge Cake 
  • Chocolate Chip Sponge Cake made only with Belgian chocolate  - yummy this is what I picked for my cake.
  • Fruit Cake 
  • Gluten Wheat Free Cake 
  • Dairy Free Cakes 

You can choose from 4 different sizes: 
  • Letterbox Cakes 3-4 portions5 inch cakes  
  • Small Party Cake 10-12 portions 7 inch cakes 
  • Medium Party Cake 18-25 portions 9 inch cakes  
  • Large Party Cake 40-55 portions 12 inch cakes

All cakes are made specially to order and shipped in rugged packaging and they guarantee it will arrive safely and on time. If you order before 2pm, they can deliver your cake the next working day, UK only. My cake arrived in a parcel box that fitted straight through the letterbox, and when I opened the box up I found a lovely little card, a small packet of Love Hearts (nice touch), a tin, and inside the tin was the cake.First impression was really good, I was excited, and also appreciative of the attention to detail. The little extras made it that much more special.The cake was really moreish, my sons and I really enjoyed eating it - especially the chocolate sponge.  I also love the tin it came in, I will be keeping that to store bits and bobs in it, like make-up.




As well as the fantastic presentation it arrived in, and beautiful looking, the cake was absolutely gorgeous; it was really light and tasted very scrumptious. I would recommend Baker Days to anyone looking for a cake, and/or an alternative gift - it would be such a nice surprise.
