I maintain that Garth is an acquired taste. Dean says it himself in this episode; Garth is not Bobby, and that is true on a number of levels. Still, it’s hard not to appreciate the earnestness of the character, or the purpose that he serves. With just about everyone else in their lives dead and gone, who else is going to walk in and force them out of their self-imposed shells?
