This past Monday, two separate groups of scientists reported similar findings regarding the future of the shrinking West Antarctica ice sheet.
Spoiler alert: it’s not encouraging news.
It seems that polar ice cap that someone or other is always trying to save…well, it can’t be saved. It’s retreating, and there’s nothing we can do to stop it.
Yes, it seems all that “green” effort we’ve been putting forth was too little, too late. Although, there is some good news, it seems physics is at least on are side. There may be nothing we can do to stop it, but ice can only flow so fast.
So, at least we’ll have some time to figure out where to store that extra ten feet of water that will be rejoining the ocean in the next few centuries.
