Few days ago my personal favorite rock band, R.E.M announced their break up as a band. It was a shocking decision, because they’ve already in business for 31 years and they were regarded as one of the best college band rock so far. Taken from their official website:
"To our Fans and Friends: As R.E.M., and as lifelong friends and co-conspirators, we have decided to call it a day as a band. We walk away with a great sense of gratitude, of finality, and of astonishment at all we have accomplished. To anyone who ever felt touched by our music, our deepest thanks for listening." R.E.M.
This announcement officially ended their 31 years career with 15 studio albums, 2 live albums, and 10 compilation albums. Their last album was Live At The Olympia (live album) which was released in 2007. But their recording company, Warner Bros released that they will release R.E.M’s greatest hits album in November.
