We recently took part in a Twitter Party and where we donned our rock style wigs, inflated our groovy guitars and rocked along to the movie version of Rock of Ages while tweeting our experience. It was a whole lot of fun and I enjoyed the movie far more than I thought I would, singing along and maybe even dancing about just a little bit too.

It's time to rock!

Rock of Ages stars some very well known actors such as Tom Cruise, Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta Jones, Mary J. Blige, Alec Baldwin and Bryan Cranston to name but a few. It tells the story of a small town girl, Sherrie, who moves to the big city to chase her dreams. When she arrives she meets another young aspiring singer Drew and what follows is a love story told through the great 80s music of Def Leppard, Foreigner, Journey, Poison, REO Speedwagon, Twisted Sister and more. Tom Cruise as rocker Stacey Jaxx is hilarious in it as is Russell Brand, Alec Baldwin and Catherine Zeta Jones.
I loved this film, it made me laugh, it had me sing and I was toe tapping along to the music throughout. Sure it is cheesy and full of clichés but it is fun and definitely worth watching, it's one of those feel good movies you can't help but enjoy. I can highly recommend it.

Rock of Ages is available to purchase from a variety of retails including Play.com and Amazon with both Blu-ray (with UltraViolet) and DVD (with UltraViolet) versions available.
