I was so excited when one of my favorite labels, Reiss, reached out to talk about collaborating!
The British brand is a favorite of Beyonce and Anne Hathaway but has gained a huge following recently thanks to the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton.
Kate created a Reiss frenzy when she wore their Nannette dress ($325) in her official engagement photo back in December 2010. Since then, she's worn their dresses periodically, meeting the Obama's in the Shola dress ($340) and re-wearing the Nannette while on tour in Canada.
While Reiss is known for its impeccable tailoring and sleek, elegant frocks they also have a sense of fun with bright colors, sumptuous leather jackets, and on-trend pieces like maxi skirts.
Reiss's Spring 2012 collection mixes old Hollywood glamour with the best of 90s minimalism- clean lines, girlish prints, and slouchy knits.
On Wednesday night I headed out to the Reiss store (132 Newbury St) to preview the collection for myself.
Next, I tried on the Cherish fitted pencil skirt ($180). I had been dying to get my hands on a striped skirt since seeing one on another blogger. I was surprised at how flattering it was on her and decided I needed to try one on myself!
So I pulled out the Latina tank in firebrick ($115) because who doesn't love orange with black and white?
Lastly, I fell head over heels in love with the Magda dress ($360).
All in all I love Reiss's collection for spring. The prices are in the contemporary luxury level but the fabrics and cuts are so brilliant that you can immediately tell these pieces are going to last and are well worth it.
On Thursday night (3/1) you'll want to head over to Reiss for a runway show and shopping party hosted by Boldfacers! I'll be there and the women's looks have been styled by my favorite fellow Boston blogger, Renata from Scorpion/Disco!
