It’s possible that, for various reasons, you are finding it hard to devote enough time to exercising and training your dog, and consequently he has developed various behavior problems that you simply cannot cope with. He is miserable, and so are you.

The dog’s welfare is foremost, so if there is nothing you can implement quickly and easily to solve the situation you are in, then finding the dog a home with someone who can offer the type of environment and training he needs is not a failure in your part: rather, it is a selfless act that will give the dog the chance to lead a more fulfilled and happier life.

Rescue and rehoming dog centers may be able to provide you with useful information on how to go about finding the home your dog would be most comfortable with. Some rescue centers will even rehome your dog for you, providing you give them a donation to help cover his keep until they do so.

Alternatively, have a word with your trainer or vet as they may know of the ideal home for your pet, with someone who can offer your dog that which you can’t.
