Redmi K40 launched with Snapdragon 870 chipset and 48MP triple rear camera setup in China. It is the successor of the Redmi K30 which was launched back in December 2019. Redmi K40 runs on MIUI 12 on top of Android 11 out of the box and comes in Bright Black, Dreamland, & Sunny Snow color options.

Redmi K40 features a 6.67-inches FHD+ E4 AMOLED True Tone display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR10+, peak brightness of 1300 nits, Gorilla Glass 5, and a center-positioned 2.76mm punch-hole cutout. Under the hood, It is powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset, Adreno 650 GPU, and paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM + 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. In terms of camera, The smartphone is equipped with a triple rear camera setup that houses a 48-Megapixel (primary) camera with an aperture of  f/1.79 + 5-Megapixel (telephoto macro) camera with a 50mm focal length + 8-Megapixel (Ultrawide) sensor with 119° field of view. On the front, there is a 20-Megapixel selfie shooter.


The device packs a 4520mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging. In terms of connectivity, The handset has a dual sim slot, 5G, 4G, Wifi 6, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS, Quick Charge 3+, and Power Delivery 3.0. The sensor on board includes an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity, ambient light sensor, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. In terms of dimensions, The device measures 7.8mm thickness and 196g weight. Other feature includes stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, and Hi-Res Audio Wireless.

The base variant of Redmi K40 carries a price tag of 1999 yuan (around Rs.22,487) for 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant costs 2199 yuan (around Rs.24,729), the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model is priced at (around Rs.28,112) and lastly, the high end variant is priced at 2699 yuan (around Rs.30,362).
