Redmi 9 Activ revealed in India as the new budget smartphone from Xiaomi’s sub-brand “Redmi”. It looks that it is just a rebranded version of Redmi 9 that was announced last year in August. The smartphone comes with a waterdrop notch display, dual rear camera, MediaTek’s entry-level octa-core chipset, big battery, and more.

Redmi 9 Activ features a 6.5 inches LCD display with HD+ resolution. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered with a MediaTek Helio G35 octa-core chipset that comes coupled with IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It is accompanied by up to 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage that can be extended via a microSD slot.
In terms of camera, the smartphone boasts a dual rear camera that includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, the phone sports a 5-megapixel front-facing camera under the waterdrop notch. The device is running on Android 11 with MIUI 12 on top.
The phone comes equipped with a 5000mah battery and supports 10W charging. For connectivity, the smartphone includes 4G LTE, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB TYPE-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device is also bundled with an IR blaster and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Redmi 9 Activ comes in two configurations including 4GB RAM + 64GB storage priced at Rs. 9,499 and 6GB + 128GB for Rs. 10,999. The company offered the smartphone in three color options namely Carbon Black, Metallic purple, and coral green. The phone will go for sale on September 24 at 12pm via Amazon.in, Mi.com, Mi Home, and more.
