Hello everyone,
I hope you all had a great weekend and you are now ready to face the week with gusto! Mine was so much fun! We traveled to Dayton, Ohio to visit with some wonderful friends and to celebrate the man of the house’s birthday. It was such a beautiful weekend weather wise, no heat and humidity. It was just perfect. We did the usual visiting routine; dining and sightseeing, I really enjoyed the tour of the US Air Force Museum. The B52 really held my interest ~ it is huge!
Of course, we also spent a relaxing time around the house and enjoyed playing with their two children.
Today, represents the first day of school for many children and college bound students. As you can imagine, it’s not exactly a day that is looked up to or anticipated favorably by the students. The thought of getting out of bed early when the weather is still hot and having to spend hours indoors is not what makes for a happy child. I’m sure most parents, aren’t too terribly upset with the idea of preparing for the first day of school. To them it means peace and quiet around the house for a few hours per day.
This got me to thinking about “empty nest” parents who now have additional spaces to re decorate. Can you imagine the possibilities? The truth is, for some “empty nester’s”, this additional space can be daunting. They haven’t had to think about redecorating this space in years.
Here are some Redecorating Ideas for new spaces which can give that room(s) some added vibrancy and functionality:
With an additional guest bedroom, you can have sleep overs. You can achieve whatever designing style you want by the use of paint, wallpaper, furniture and accessories. Start by deciding what effect you want to convey; bright and sunny or calm and cozy.
The wallpaper is the headboard. Love it!
A hobby room, imagine having a space to do your own crafting.
Why not add a yoga studio in your new space? If you are trying to use a yoga video, practice what you learnt from your yoga class, or perhaps you are too busy to always attend classes, it’s time to create a simple home yoga studio or practice space. Choose a paint color in a soothing color such as; light green, lavender, and light pink. These three colors are known as calming colors, shades of tan are also very calming.
These are just a few design ideas that “empty nesters” can do with their newly acquired space(s). I was thinking, what about creating a walk in clothes and shoes closet? Isn’t it every woman’s dream to have such a room~a space to go into that’s strictly off limits to anyone but her? Ah, how wonderful that would be!
What would you do, if you were facing the empty nest syndrome this year? Is there a space that you would consider redecorating? Would it to be for you alone or would do share the space?
Have a great rest of your day.
Simone
