Story: Red Right Hand starts when Cash (Bloom) is moving toward a quiet life away from crime. However, his brother owes local mob boss Big Cat (MacDowell) a lot of money. Cash must reluctantly return to the life of crime to protect his loved ones.
Meanwhile, Big Cat finds herself in the middle of a battle for power against another crime boss. She forces Cash to get involved in cleaning out the competition, even if it means causing a lot of mess in the local town.
Verdict on Red Right Hand
Red Right Hand is a crime thriller following a former criminal trying to have a normal life. Only, he gets dragged back into the crime world by his brother’s debts. However, he must navigate the world to get his family out safely, against a ruthless mob boss.
This ends up feeling like nearly every other ‘thought they were out’ crime movie. It does present a more ruthless boss in Big Cat, but the motivation is the same as every other movie we have seen. It doesn’t create any near-shootout sequences and feels like we could have just seen a copy and paste from stronger screenplays.
Where to Watch
JustWatchFinal Thoughts – Red Right Hand is the standard by-the-book thriller.
