Real Talk

Oh. Hello there. Nice to see you.
As you can see, it's been a while since I last blogged. Reasons for this are many (and are mostly just me justifying abject laziness): it was cold and dark this winter, waking up is hard, working two jobs leaves me with no time, etc... They really aren't excuses, per se. Such is life.   In reality I haven't been blogging because I've been in a slump. Now, this isn't a life-wide slump - on the contrary, I'm really enjoying life in St. Louis so far. I like my job - a lot (and that goes so far in terms of liking other aspects of one's life). I like the city itself, and the people (who are not nearly as cliquey as some would make it seem). The food and the beer are absolutely some of the best I've ever had (east coast, I just might never return if you don't get some legit BBQ). But there have been some less positive (imo) changes that have come from the move. I drive everywhere and rarely ride my bike anymore (it has also been freezing winter so there's that...). And while I absolutely love having a car, my body is struggling to adjust to a suddenly much more sedentary lifestyle - for the first time in a decade, my feet are not my most reliable form of transportation! And so, a closet-related slump. What few clothes I {seem to} like aren't exactly fitting the same anymore (see above about food and beer...), and this is leaving me feeling so blah about getting dressed every morning. I want to bring my best for you guys, and lately I haven't been feeling my best, blog-wise.   But with the arrival of spring, I'm finding myself much more positive. It's warm out, so I actually want to be outside - and I live near one of the nicest city parks I've ever been to, and love having all that green space on my doorstep. I'm trying to make it a point to get out and walk or bike as much as humanly possible (before it gets to be a swamp). I'm taking a 30-day yoga challenge. So far I haven't missed a day (even though I am only on day 7...) and it's totally helped my outlook. Things are looking up! And if my boobs remain way larger than they were before and thus nothing wants to button anymore, well...such is life!
