Real Food Meal Plan – Week 10

By Thecookspyjamas @thecookspyjamas
This week's Real Food Meal Plan includes toasted sandwiches, soup from the freezer, a slow cooker chicken curry and a spicy gnocchi dish.

The Princess was away on (another) camp at the start of the week. And as I was helping out with some of the meals, dinner at home over the camp was a very simple, serve yourself affair.

This week we ate:

Sunday

Toasted Sandwiches

It doesn't get simpler than this. Toasted sandwiches are perfect for a quick meal. I had the gourmet version: ham, Dijon mustard and brie.

Monday

Smoky and Flavoursome Pea & Ham Soup

Soup is an ideal meal to serve in cooler weather when family members are eating at different times. As I already had a huge batch in the freezer, dinner was just that little bit easier.

Tuesday

Chicken & Lentil Curry from Slow: Mouth-Watering Recipes for the Slow Cooker and Crockpot. Served with brown rice.

Wednesday

Creamy Chorizo & Spinach Gnocchi.

This was a bit of an experiment, and an extremely successful experiment at that. The recipe needs a slight tweak, but will be appearing on the blog soon.

Thursday

Minced Beef Wellington from Jamie's Ministry for Food. Served with Fried Cabbage with Pancetta.

Freezer Cooking

I managed to get most of the leftovers from Tuesday night's dinner into the freezer. Mr Grumpy purloined some for his lunch when I wasn't looking, but I still have enough left for another meal if I add a simple side dish to it.

I deliberately doubled the filling for the Minced Beef Wellington on Thursday evening, and froze the excess. This was such a simple and tasty meal, and is already packed full of vegetables so it only needs a side dish added to it for a great dinner.

Bon Appetit!
