Let the festivities begin! I love the holiday season and, while I normally wait till December to start celebrating, I kicked things off early this year at the launch party for RBC’s Avion Holiday Boutique at Yorkdale Mall!
Open from November 19th for the duration of the holiday season, the holiday boutique features exclusive services like gift wrapping, parcel check, porter service, and even valet parking for Avion credit card holders. To my pleasant surprise, there was even a virtual reality experience! It’s cool to see VR popping up more and more in different scenarios – in this case, RBC used the Samsung Gear to show different rewards available when redeeming Avion points, transporting us to a tropical beach, a beautiful golf course and a luxurious kitchen.
For those of you outside the GTA, RBC also has a holiday boutique in Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby, BC, as well as two kiosks with similar services in the Halifax Shopping Centre and St. Laurent Shopping Centre in Ottawa, opening November 25th.
Throughout the decadent night, we enjoyed the boutique as a homebase to get a head start on our Christmas shopping. Many of us got our purchases wrapped on the spot, partly for the convenience of it and partly so the gifts are already wrapped before we get home where sneaky family members can see them. For those of you who are not Avion cardholders, you can use the Avion Passport App to get access to the free gift wrapping service in the Toronto and Burnaby locations.
