My notes:This radio show is the earliest recording of Ray Manzarek playing live after The Doors broke up in 1973. Ray sings and plays keyboards and synthesizer together with his new bandmates: Dave Ferguson on guitar, Tim Downs on drums, Jerry Manfredi on bass and Steve Forman on percussions. The setlist covers Ray's first solo album, The Golden Scarab, almost in its entirety. The instrumental parts are extended from the studio version with long improvisations and the overall mood is enthusiastic. The last song is Roy Brown's Good Rockin' which was part of The Doors' final album (Full Circle) and was extensively performed during their 1972 shows. Halfway through this song, Ray sings the line "The whole thing started with rock and roll and now it's out of control" which would become the title of his next solo album and the first song on it.
