By Harini

Raw jackfruit/tender jackfruit known as pala musu in Tamil is a vegetable that not most are aware of,I have seen people raising their eyebrows when this vegetable is mentioned. If you are one among them, let me tell you,raw jackfruit is used in many recipes in Tamil cuisine, not very often though, may be because it is a seasonal vegetable.Unlike the fruit, the raw jackfruit is very firm and full of texture,it holds its shape well even after boiled and suitable for dry curry just like any other vegetable. There are many varieties of curry made with this vegetables and today I sharing the simplest one, with no grinding. Apart from this raw jackfruit,we also store the big seed from ripe jackfruit and make many delicacies with that. The only hurdle with raw jackfruit is that it takes some time and patience to cut and clean it.We used to apply oil in hands and knife while cutting it as it oozes out a lot.Now over to the simple yet tasty recipe.
