raw mango rice recipe - grated mango tempered with spices and mixed with boiled rice.
raw mango recipes are really my favorite one and i want to make mango pachadi most of the time in home in last two months and reserve some pieces to enjoy it with red chilli powder and salt mixture.
mango perukku recipe which is really new to me and i tried it very first time and it is a pachadi recipe,which is my favorite.
mango thokku is my another favorite recipe but i want to keep it long like mango pickle.But it won't lasts for weeks.Grated mango is used here in this recipe for making a wonderful tangy rice and it is a long time i posted a one pot recipe.
for this recipe,you can use little sour mangoes and don't use mangoes which we use for pickles.It will be more sour and you have to add more rice to balance it.you can avoid peanuts here and proceed the recipe as it is.I added that for little crunch and it is really go well with the mango pieces.
You can also try this with leftover rice and it came out really well with this one and very well paired with papad and potato roast,a little spicy to a tangy recipe.lets move on making the recipe.,
raw mango rice recipe
boiled rice mixed with grated mango,peanuts and dry red chilli
- Boiled rice - 2 cups
- grated raw mango - 1 cup
- turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- black gram seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- bengal gram/kadalai paruppu - 1 teaspoon
- peanuts - 2 teaspoons
- dry red chilli - 1 no
- curry leaves - as needed
- oil - as needed
- salt - to taste
- wash the raw mango and peel the skin using peeler.Grate it finely and keep it ready.
- Heat the kadai with 4 teaspoons of oil and add mustard seeds and curry leaves.Once it splutters,add black gram seeds,peanuts ,red chilli,turmeric powder and bengal gram to it and roast till golden brown.
- Lower the flame and add grated raw mango and saute it till the water content dries out.
- Add enough salt to it and mix it well.
- Finally add the rice and give a quick mix and make sure the rice combined well with grated mango.
- Serve piping hot with papad and potato roast.
