Rapper Young Buck’s $53k IRS Auction

By Raymondleejewelers @raymondleejwlrs

Many young people who come into money all of a sudden after growing up with modest means wind up in trouble with the IRS. M.C. Hammer was a famous scenario, but many other rappers like Young Buck wind up having to give up some of their property to the IRS to cover their taxes. At 53k, this auction is more modest than the millions that M.C. Hammer lost, and of note to jewelry collectors as well as music fans.

Young Buck, pictured with his diamond encrusted 615 Pendant, the most expensive item that sold.

The auction (for which the full list of insanely swaggy items can be found here) includes fur coats and jewelry, features some interesting items, such as a Bentley watch encrusted in diamonds, a Freeze brand watch, original photographs of Tupac and Snoop Dogg, a wealth of recording equipment, and a one of a kind neck chain featuring the jewel encrusted logo for 615 Cashville Records, Young Buck’s recording group.

The Freeze Watch

Some items, like the custom chain, might be of special interest to fans of the artist, although smelting the chain and removing the gems is more likely on the minds of many bidders. The jewels alone in these pieces are worth thousands, never mind the metal content. The actual piece was appraised for $20,000.

The Cashville Records Chain sold for $12,000.

It’s unfortunate that so many young artists, athletes and investors lose so much of their income owing to the IRS, but it may be of interest to jewel collectors.
