Raphael Cennamo Spring 2013 Presentation

This time around, I welcome Alexandra Shook of delayedmissives.com and her inspired report on the very  dramatic and beautiful Spring 2013 Collection from Raphael Cennamo.
While the vibe at the Raphael Cennamo Spring 2013 Presentation at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week was more like a lively black tie affair (complete with purple lights and champagne), the collection itself had a dreamy, nature-inspired feel. Structured architectural details and mermaid silhouettes were prominent.

The designer credited Japan as a huge inspiration, but with a color story of soft pastels like moon mist gray, silver breeze and oceanic wind, the sea was a leading influence. Delicate-looking beads and soft whorls reminiscent of a tidal pool were carried throughout the collection.

The majority of the gowns were clearly meant for the drama of the red carpet, the cocktail dresses would be fun -- if decadent -- attire for less formal occasions.
