Ralph Baer, Inventor of the First Gaming Console Dies at 92

Baer’s first gaming console model named “Brown Box” lead to the birth of Odyssey console, which went on sale in 1972 starting a new home entertainment revolution. Later on he invented several other video game related devices including the first light gun that allowed us to shoot on-screen targets and many more. Baer received the US National Medal of Technology in 2004 and he was honored among the America’s National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2010.
