Netflix announced on Friday that they've renewed Raising Dion for a second season!
The announcement was made via a moving video featuring renowned Senegalese painter Bou Bou painting a portrait of the series leads Nicole played by Alisha Wainwright and the titular hero Dion played by newcomer Ja'Siah Young.
The Michael B. Jordan executive produced superhero drama series became a Netflix and Chill fan favorite as soon as it started streaming on the platform back in October. The series ranked #10 most popular 2019 Netflix series overall, and was the streamer's #1 most popular kids and family series for last year.
Production is set to begin this year and the sophomore season is expected to include 8 one hour episodes.
The series is based on the comic book series and short film of the same name by Dennis Liu., A widowed single mom discovers that her son has super powers and tries to figure out how to raise him safely and responsibly.
