Rabat waterfront
In Rabat I visited the Medina, Hassan Tower and Mausoleum, Kasbah of the Udayahs and the downtown area around the Rabat Train Station. Rabat is actually one of the better cities to visit in Morocco, mainly because there are not so many people heckling and pushing to sell to you, like in other cities such as Marrakesh or Fes. The places to visit are pretty similar to the other more touristy cities but without the hassle. There are lots of hotels here from ridiculously cheap, to better quality hotels. The main reason I came to Rabat was to apply for my visa for Mauritania but I could not apply as the embassy was closed both days I was here, so I now have to risk going to the border to get the visa on entry.
CTM bus from Rabat to Agadir - 255 Dirhams
I took the bus to Agadir from the CTM bus station in Rabat, I bought my ticket online, the only problem with buying online is that you must buy it 3 days in advance, you can buy a ticket from the ticket office in Rabat closer to your travel date though. I took the 9.45pm bus which arrived in Agadir bus station at 6am the following morning.Agadir beach and promenade
I only stayed in Agadir for the day, so I could only really walk on the promenade, see the beach, and eat in a couple of restaurants. If I had stayed overnight I could have enjoyed some of the many bars and discos there are here. I could have also walked up to the top of Agadir Oufella (pictured above). I did visit the Souk, known as the Sunday market, even though it was not Sunday, all the shops were open.CTM overnight bus from Agadir to Dakhla - 395 Dirham
The bus from Agadir to Dakhla takes 20 hours, its ok but theres not a lot of space. The bus does stop quite often as the passengers have a need to pray and to clean their feet! This means there are plenty of opportunities to stretch your legs and visit the bathroom. The toilets in this part of the world are squat toilets so be prepared!
